The Basic Diver program is a quick and easy way to experience the world of scuba diving before you become an Open Water Diver. You will have the opportunity to explore weightlessness and meet some of the incredible marine life at the Selsey Lifeboat Station shore dive. If you do not have the time to commit to complete the full Open Water Diver course, or just want to experience the underwater world this is the programme for you. 

The programme consists of several elements to help you prepare for exploring the underwater Wraysbury Staines. 

  • Home study
  • Online academic workshop 
  • Confined water session
  • Open Water training dive 

During your confined water session we will start with a safety introduction then under the water we go! Your Instructor will help you get comfortable in the equipment, gain confidence, and teach you the required skills for your open water dive.

On completion you will earn the Basic Diver Certification which will allow you to dive under the direct supervision of an Instructor for six months after completion. 

Your fully qualified SSI Instructor will guide you through each step of your journey. We want you to get the most from your experience therefore our maximum class size is 2:1. If you prefer, we do offer a 1:1 option and dates to suit you on all our training courses, just ask for pricing and dates.
